AM I REALLY GOING OUT?

MY IDEA OF “GOING OUT”

So here, is my idea of going out. Yeah, it seems a bit boring, but honestly I would not want to “go out” any other way. Who said that going out required having a party or being extra? No one!! In fact, I hate going out so actually being anywhere outdoors wouldn’t be “great” for me… so let’s explore this venue.

So, this venue represents the movies…at my bestfriend’s house. She has a big flatscreen TV which we tend to watch a bunch of Netflix movies on (as indicated by the laptop) and the millions of snack and food that my bestfriend’s house has to offer (which I tend to overeat).

So yes, this is my great night out. I’m not in my own house and I am spending the time with the people I adore most. I mean, what better way to spend your time than to be with your bestfriend? Sounds like an amazing night to me, especially for the homebodies!!

Jacuzzi Misadventures

Side note: for this assignment, I originally wanted to use the jacuzzi setting on my parent’s bathtub to create a hot-tub party, but things went quite awry. I rarely use their bathtub and I hadn’t used the jacuzzi setting in years, so little did I know what would happen. I filled the tub up to the jacuzzi jet line, and when I pressed the button, the water came surging out at crazy speeds, splashing the water all around the tub: on the ground, sink, mirrors. It scared the daylight out of me and I turned it off almost immediately. It also flung a ton of dirt into the water making it completely unsuitable to bathe. So, one important lesson I learned from this assignment: don’t use the jacuzzi setting! Thankfully I wasn’t in the tub at the time, or else it would have been a disaster.

I later redid this assignment, albeit with a much less unique premise. I brought a boombox (out of commission unfortunately, but a good atmosphere nonetheless), a dart board, and a monster energy drink to make for a fun basement bathroom party. Also, of course, including a roll of toilet paper and hand sanitizer as part of my state-mandated coronacation.

Hometask 2: Dinner Party?

The real daily experience inspires my decoration in the bathroom. It is an interesting experience for my sister and me that last weekend the power in our house is accidentally cut off except the electricity in the bathroom. Therefore in consideration of survivability, we moved some portable cooking utensils to the bathroom. Sanitation guaranteed, though. So this time, I decorated the bathroom with the “dinner party” theme. I put the toasters and all kinds of sauce in there, which basically serves every meal for me last weekend. Also, to build up a party feel, I bring some decorative bulbs and lamps as well.

Welcome to the Quaranclub

For my bathroom nightclub, I took a creative spin on it by incorporating some common coronavirus qualms into the storyline. I wrote a sign on the door that said “Welcome to the Coronaclub” and handed the bouncer my ID. However, he did not accept it and pushed me out of the way so I came back with purell. Even though he didn’t accept my ID, he still let me into the nightclub in exchange for a squirt of coveted purell. Once I entered, the music was blaring and I handed the bartender cash to buy a drink. He did not accept the cash and only accepted toilet paper! This video shows what it would be like to attend a nightclub in today’s world. People would not accept money but only scarce items. This bathroom remodel was a lot of fun to create, and I really enjoyed finding various items in my home to incorporate that I never thought would fit in with the theme. For instance, I used blue and yellow wires as decorations as well as a red exercise band.

Toilet Paper Themed Dining for Two

My bathroom has been turned into a dinner for two! We have luxurious seats both fuzzy and soft. Some complimentary nuts and La Croix are available on the elegant table in the center of the room. Blue, green, white, and gold is draped along the walls and window. To top it off, we have a wonderful toilet paper holding candle for mood lighting. Enjoy your meal and happy hometasking :).

Sidequest 9: It’s a Darty!

For the second home task, I turned my bathroom into a fun restaurant / bar venue. In lots of old school restaurants you find games like pool, foosball, corn hole, and darts. I decided that it would be best to set up a dart board in my bathroom given the limited objects I had in my house. Going to restaurants like this was very common in the ’80s and ’90s so the song choice “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey was a no brainer given its popularity around that time. The bag of M&M’s and cups represent the restaurant aspect of the venue. The red light comes from my heat lamp in my bathroom and represents the dark environment of restaurants like this. Typically, spring time is when day parties (aka darties) occur, but since we are stuck at home, I figured I’d make an actual darty (dart party) in my bathroom! I would say I hit the bullseye with this idea for home task #2!

A Little Crafter’s Party

My bathroom got turned into a kids’ birthday party all with party favors and arts and crafts! I chose the shark mask, but there are plenty of other cute items to win and plenty of drawing materials from scented markers to waterbased ones to share. Pardon me, but the unicorn ate all the candy we had to spare. Nothing says a little kids birthday than a rustic kitchen mat saying home is the heart of the home, a stuffed mascot, and colorful party bags of pencils and erasers.

Bar Mitzvah Flashbacks

Attached below is the video of my rendition of a night club/venue in my bathroom. I apologize for the shakiness at the end of the video; I was unable to contain my excitement with my 7th grade sister jumping in my living room bathroom. Jumping around with 7th graders to classic bass drop EDM songs reminded me of the times when I’d attend Bar Mitzvah parties all the time in 7th grade and engage in this exact activity. I know my take on this side quest wasn’t as creative as some of the examples you’ll see, but I think the energy in my video is unparalleled. Energy, at least in my opinion, is the most important factor in a fun Friday night out.

Film Concert in a Bathroom

Here is my video link:

So… since I live in someone else’s house for now, it is probably not polite for me to mess with their bathroom, but luckily I live with Ruohan who has the same task as me, so we decided to do it together! The titanic music inspiration is from a youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KolfEhV-KiA) which made us laugh so hard, and we were going to mimic the video, but I guess it’s actually hard to play badly on purpose, especially both of us are new to our instruments (Ruohan hasn’t played her flute for years). Then we thought because the music comes from an actual movie, it would be really cool to do a film concert. I would totally spend a night in a film concert: it’s probably one of my favorite forms of live performance. We learned the music (and instruments) in one night, and did the “performance”, which I thought was pretty amazing. Ruohan’s cousin’s acting dumb also add a good laughing point to the video. Also shout out to Ruohan’s mom who filmed the whole video!

I hope you enjoy it.

Does a night-out place need to be real?

I do not know a real place for a night out, but I do sometimes “play” in my dream. We do I do not know a real place for a night out, but I do sometimes “play” in my dream. We do not know what we are trying to do while dreaming, but we still enjoy dreaming sometimes. What makes a dream interesting is that any strange thing can be seen as if it were happening in reality. Therefore, a dream can be a suitable place for a night out, and my goal was to make a video about it. I know that this video is probably incomprehensible and strange, like a dream, but you must have seen a similar dream before. The most strangest thing happens in this video is that the bear’s head changes into a horse’s head. I appreciate my mother, who came back from Texas two days ago, for taking the video.
